Eight children aged 1 to 14 die in a mass shooting in Louisiana

A gunman killed eight children in Louisiana in several domestic violence-related shootings that occurred in different homes early Sunday morning, Shreveport police reported. The victims were between one and 14 years old, said Shreveport police spokesman Chris Bordelon. A total of ten people were wounded by gunfire. The gunman later died after a pursuit with officers who shot him, Bordelon explained.

The chief of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d’Esquadra, Josep Naharro, stated this Tuesday that the investigators are working with the hypothesis that the gunman who on Sunday afternoon emptied the magazine of his automatic pistol in Badalona, had the objective to “intimidate” a rival family in the drug market. And that “it was an accident” that one of the bullets ricocheted and injured a 10-year-old girl who was near Còrdoba street, in the Sant Roc neighborhood.
