Alberto Núñez Feijóo reacted just minutes after it became known that the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard is searching the national headquarters of the PSOE. The leader of the PP has called for elections because he considers what is happening to be “extremely serious.” “There is no choice but to give the Spanish people the floor immediately. No, we can’t take it anymore,” he said, at the entrance to the government control session in Congress.
In this regard, Feijóo will not have the floor this Wednesday in the control session because Pedro Sánchez is traveling in Italy, where he will meet with Pope Leo XIV and attend a UN event for Agriculture and Food (FAO), so there will be no opportunity to ask him about this matter.
“The question is: How many more raids? How many more commissions? How many more bribes? How much money in bags? How many jewels? How many case files? How many investigation periods? How many oral trials?” Feijóo asked, seeing that Spain is going through an “agonizing situation.”
Feijóo has again appealed to the partners to present a motion of no confidence, as they are decisive for it to succeed. The leader of the PP insisted that he will do “everything possible to change the government” and assured that he has “clear” plans. “I hope I can change the plans of the partners who are supporting a government that stinks,” said the PP leader, who also did not want to specify whether he will start a round of contacts with parliamentary groups.
Feijóo insisted on “the unbearable atmosphere of Spanish politics” that exists after the corruption cases surrounding Sánchez and therefore “it is urgent that the government partners say ‘enough’.” “We are questioning the decency not only of the Government, which is an indecent government. Not only of the Socialist Party, but we are already beginning to have a risk of contagion,” said the PP leader.

Later, PP sources criticized Sánchez’s reaction, who, from Rome, maintained his support for Zapatero. “Pedro Sánchez comes out laughing in the Vatican and making jokes,” they lament in the PP’s engine room. “How many raids, indictments, requests, arrests, trials, and sentences can this country endure and can Pedro Sánchez’s partners tolerate?” asked the PP, appealing especially to Junts and PNV.
