BBC Studios has exclusively acquired the international adaptation rights of ‘La gran cita’, the 3Cat format presented by the Badalona influencer Aida Domènech, known as Dulceida. The agreement will allow the BBC’s commercial subsidiary to distribute, develop, and produce adaptations of the program in various markets around the world. According to 3Cat, this is the first time that BBC Studios has acquired the adaptation rights of a format created by a Spanish channel and originally developed in Catalan.

The success of La revuelta has also turned the program into a breeding ground for new presenters within RTVE. After signing Lalachus to host Grand Prix, now it is Grison who takes charge of his own show with El escondite, a family entertainment contest that La 1 will premiere this fall. The classic childhood game thus arrives on television transformed into a large-scale format that was presented this week at the Vitoria Television Festival (FesTVal).

RTVE bets on the vertical format with ‘Estúpido Cupido’, a youth romantic comedy that combines fiction and improvisation and is designed to be consumed from a mobile phone. The series, presented this Friday at the FesTVal in Vitoria, will have more than 80 episodes lasting between one and a half and three minutes and will later have a horizontal version of ten episodes that will be available on RTVE Play and YouTube.

Premiered on September 10, 2000, under the subtitle Expedición Robinson, it is part of the reality rotation along with Gran Hermano and La isla de las tentaciones.
