Traveling by plane is never a pleasant experience for a dog, as traditionally airlines allow pets to travel either under the front seat and inside a carrier (in the case of small animals) or in the plane’s cargo hold, isolated from their owner. However, the Italian company ITA Airways will launch next August a new service so that dogs can travel in a seat like any other passenger, as long as they do not exceed 30 kilograms in weight.

On the night of the USA’s 250th birthday, last July 4, a family lost their pet, a small dog with black, curly hair, whose name has not been revealed. After searching for him in the surroundings and shelters of the Menlo Park area, in San Francisco, they declared the animal missing. But almost two weeks later, the East Palo Grande police department gave them the best possible news: they had found their dog, who had lived an unimaginable odyssey.

Traveling with a dog has become an increasingly common necessity for many families. Pets no longer always stay at home during vacations or long trips, and public transportation is beginning to adapt to an obvious social reality: for many households, the dog is part of the journey.
