The National Intelligence Center (CNI) warned hours before the massive entry of migrants into Ceuta of a “call” to cross the Tarajal border breakwater by swimming or on foot. The secret services sent this warning via WhatsApp to the Government Delegation in the autonomous city and to the Civil Guard. They did so around 2:00 p.m. the previous day. That same afternoon, the CNI also sent an “urgent note” to Morocco to warn of the existence of a plan to enter on the 30th promoted on social networks. However, the documentation declassified this Wednesday by the Government does not reflect that the magnitude of what was going to happen was assessed: an assault on the fence, through which more than 80,000 people entered in just 48 hours. Nor does it appear that these alerts were raised to higher authorities to act, even if with little margin.

The leadership of Junts per Catalunya has demanded this Thursday that the Constitutional Court address the protection appeals of the independence leaders that have been on its desk for a year and resolve them “before going on vacation” following the endorsement of the Amnesty law by the European justice system.

Tension in the European Social Democratic family. The behavior of the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, aligning herself with the Italian Giorgia Meloni in the Ceuta migration crisis, seems to have been the last straw. The Vice President of the European Parliament and member of the PSC-PSOE, Javi López, and the Foreign Affairs head of the Italian Democratic Party (PD), Beppe Provenzano, have formally protested to the Party of European Socialists (PES) over her unsupportive attitude, in a very unusual public gesture within the same political family. It is not very common for such criticism to be raised and for the issue to be requested to be addressed in the governing bodies.
