The Civil Guard arrested in the early hours of this Thursday in the Murcian town of Puerto Lumbreras the man who allegedly stabbed to death his ex-partner, a 44-year-old woman, in a shopping center in Murcia, police sources have reported.

The man had been wanted since the afternoon of this Wednesday, when he allegedly murdered his ex-partner, and the magistrate of the second plaza of the Instruction Section of the Murcia Court of First Instance, on duty, had ordered his search and arrest.
The man is accused of “homicide and breach of sentence,” as he broke a restraining order
According to the Superior Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia (TSJMU), he is accused of the crimes of “homicide and breach of sentence,” as he had been sentenced for mistreatment and was subject to a restraining order prohibiting him from approaching within 500 meters of the woman.

The magistrate has also “provisionally attributed the custody of the couple’s minor daughter” to the “competent public institution” of the Government of the Region of Murcia so that “the appropriate protection measures are applied.”
The president of the regional government, Fernando López Miras, will lead a minute of silence this Thursday called as a sign of repudiation for the crime, an event that has also been called in other municipalities, such as Cartagena.
