Therapist Maria Julia Lüderwaldt traveled along with her collaborator Johanna the same Montserrat route where Isak Andic died thirteen days later. Both women walked the Camí de les Feixades de Collbató on December 1, 2024, intending to locate a route with ravines to carry out a confrontation therapy designed for another patient, a man named Salvador, diagnosed with schizophrenia. A treatment for which, according to Johanna’s later statement to the Mossos d’Esquadra, Jonathan Andic had shown interest.

During that walk, Maria Julia took note of the “danger points” indicated by the English teacher, a woman accustomed to mountain routes and well acquainted with the area. As they progressed on the walk, Maria Julia commented on the particularities of each point. Whether she liked it because it could be grabbed or if she didn’t like it because it was too far from the start.
When they finished the excursion, Lüderwaldt revealed to her collaborator that this route could also serve another patient of hers, Jonathan Andic, about whom she said he had problems managing money and wanted to know a mountain itinerary to walk with a niece. Jonathan has no nieces.
To convince Johanna to accompany him, the therapist added that her patient also wanted to practice English and that, among all her collaborators, she was the most suitable person to make that excursion.
Six days later, on December 7, the English teacher and the son of the founder of Mango walked together the Camí de les Feixades. Before the excursion, Maria Julia sent an audio message to Johanna with a very specific instruction: she had to show Jonathan the “danger points” that both had identified on the previous route. The therapist insisted twice that she point out where the ravines were.
The message would prove that the suspect knew the risks of the Collbató path before going with his father
This WhatsApp message is just one of many in the possession of the Mossos in charge of the investigation into the alleged homicide of Isak Andic and would allegedly prove that Jonathan Andic knew the dangerous sections of the Montserrat route before going with his father.
Johanna went to a Catalan police station on May 29 to testify. She was later summoned again and handed over her mobile phone so technicians could extract the messages exchanged with the therapist, with Jonathan Andic, and with other persons of interest to the case. Maria Julia did the same. The day she testified as a witness in the Martorell courts, on June 30, Judge Raquel Nieto asked if she authorized the extraction and subsequent analysis of her phone, and she agreed.

When questioned by investigators, Johanna stated that she did not know why she had to show the ravines to Jonathan. According to her version, which La Vanguardia has accessed, it was not only Maria Julia who proposed that Jonathan take that Montserrat route, but she also insisted that her patient know the risk points of the route.

The witness voluntarily and unexpectedly appeared at the police station because, as she explained, she had been unable to sleep for a year and a half and needed to tell the police what she knew. The English teacher’s account marked a turning point in the judicial investigation. Several sources consulted maintain that the fact that Jonathan Andic’s defense still does not have her statement and that Johanna has not been summoned to testify in court could be due to the existence of proceedings affecting the therapist that are being conducted in a secret file.
The defense denies that their client was interested in an extreme therapy facing a cliff
In one of her orders, Judge Raquel Nieto expressly referred to Maria Julia and mentioned the existence of “third parties” who “could have participated in the events.” Lüderwaldt testified as a witness on June 30 and, so far, there is no official record that her procedural situation has changed. However, the line of investigation about the role she might have played has not been abandoned.
Jonathan Andic’s defense issued a statement yesterday denying that their client was interested in the therapy described by the English teacher. “Jonathan Andic denies that he knew about or was interested in mountain fall simulation therapies,” the statement says.
A trip to Quito for a book by Maria Julia
Jonathan Andic, investigated for the alleged homicide of his father, Isak Andic, traveled in March 2025 to Quito, where he claimed his mobile phone was stolen in a square in the Ecuadorian capital. The lightning trip, lasting barely 48 hours, is one of the episodes that interest the investigating judge, who suspects that Jonathan may have used the stay to get rid of the device he carried on the day of his father’s death and thus eliminate the trail of conversations that could be compromising with third parties. Until now, the reason for that trip had barely been revealed, which his defense contextualized as responsibilities typical of a senior executive of an international company. El País revealed the details of the trip yesterday, which had little to do with Mango or the projects Jonathan Andic planned before his father’s death. Once again, the Andic family therapist, Maria Julia Lüderwaldt, appears linked to this episode. Jonathan traveled to the therapist’s native country to hold several meetings related to a publishing project: the publication of a book about the so-called “seven chronologies,” a method created by Lüderwaldt herself, without known scientific evidence, which divides life into seven stages, each with different focuses and challenges. Jonathan explained that it was a project initially planned by Isak Andic and Maria Julia and that, after the father’s death, the therapist decided to reactivate it with him.
