A 39-year-old man died this Wednesday by hanging in his home in Málaga after attempting to strangle his partner, in the presence of their minor daughter, who alerted health services about the assault for which the woman remains hospitalized.

Police sources have indicated to EFE that this is a case of gender-based violence and that neither of the two was registered in the Viogen system.
The events occurred around 18:00 hours when the emergency service 112 received a call from a minor who alerted that a man was trying to strangle a woman, prompting alerts to 061 and the National Police.
The officers who arrived at the home, on Leoni Benabú street, found the woman in cardiorespiratory arrest, so they performed resuscitation maneuvers and coordinated her transfer to a hospital center.

Initial investigations reveal that the man tried to strangle his wife and then hanged himself and died, events reported by their minor daughter, according to the Police.
The woman, 35 years old, has been transferred to a hospital center in Málaga without her health condition being disclosed.
