A man died this Tuesday after being stabbed in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. According to sources from the Mossos d’Esquadra who spoke to this outlet, the police received a call around 03:25 in the morning about a fight on the Barceloneta promenade.

Several patrols went to the scene, where they found a man with a stab wound, who was later arrested as a suspect for violating a restraining order against a woman who was present.
The man, formally arrested for violating the court order, was taken to the hospital, where he eventually died from his injuries.

The perpetrator and circumstances of the stabbing are unknown
At the moment, the perpetrator is unknown, while other media suggest the incident occurred more specifically at Somorrostro beach. The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) has taken over the case to clarify the circumstances of the death and is investigating whether third parties were involved in the incident.
Two units from the Medical Emergency Service (SEM) also attended the scene, treated the injured man, and transported him to a hospital, where he ultimately died.
