The Castilla-La Mancha emergency service 112 informed EFE that the attack occurred at 5:16 a.m. this Tuesday in a home located in Plaza de España in Alameda, where apparently the man stabbed the woman.

Sources from the Civil Guard added that the victim was not in the Viogen system and there were no previous records of similar incidents. Additionally, authorities confirmed that three of the couple’s four children were in the home at the time of the fatal attack, one of whom was a minor, so in this last case the Social Services of the Autonomous Community will have to intervene.

The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, indicated that the age of the older children would be between 23 and 24 years. The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Toledo has taken charge of the investigation, in which the main hypothesis is a case of gender-based violence.

112 indicated that after receiving the alert, an emergency doctor and an ICU unit were dispatched to the scene, but they could do nothing to save the woman’s life. The man was transferred by the ICU to the Toledo Hospital.

If this case is confirmed as a gender-based murder, it would be the 31st woman victim of gender violence so far this year, and 1,371 since 2003.
