This is clear from the most recent data, corresponding to the month of May, according to the exhaustive analysis carried out by the hotel employers’ association Hosbec. València registered an occupancy of 91.9% in the second half of the month and closed May at a remarkable 89.9%, five and four points above 2025 levels, respectively.

The capital consolidates its appeal for the international market, so much so that Spanish clients now represent less than a third of stays (28.6% in the fortnight), while the United States and the United Kingdom stand out, both with a 9.9% share, followed by Italy (7.7%), Germany (7.4%) and the Netherlands (6.2%).

Spanish clients now represent less than a third of stays in València hotels

By category, the best results in the last fifteen days of the month were concentrated in 3-star establishments, which reached 97.5% occupancy in the province and a spectacular 99% in the city during the second half of the month. 4-star hotels also showed very solid performance, especially in València, where establishments exceeded 92% average occupancy.

Prospects for June, according to Hosbec, continue to be positive, with confirmed bookings already reaching 82.7% in the province and 82.5% in the city, maintaining the trend that has been marking the destination throughout the season.

In Castellón, the national market represents 75.5% of demand

In contrast, Castellón is experiencing one of the most significant growths in May in the Valencian Community, with hotel occupancy reaching 77% in the second half of the month, no less than eleven points above the same period in 2025, allowing the month to close with an average of 73.2%, eight points more than last year.

But in this case, it is the national market that drives tourist activity, as it represents 75.5% of demand throughout the month. However, a greater international contribution is also observed, especially from the British market, which increases its weight to 5.8% monthly and reaches 7.4% in the second half of the month. France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Romania complete an increasingly diversified foreign demand.

As expected, Benidorm has closed an excellent second half of May, consolidating its strength as the main holiday destination in the Valencian Community and improving on the figures for the same period last year. Hotel occupancy reached 89.3%, 2.5 points above the 86.8% registered in the second half of May 2025. This boost has allowed the entire month to close at practically the same levels as the previous year, with an average occupancy of 86.2%.

The international market continues to be dominant, with a clear hegemony of British clients. During the second half of the month, the United Kingdom accounted for 47.3% of hotel stays, followed by the national market with 35.7%. The Netherlands (2.9%), Belgium (2.7%), and Ireland (2.6%) followed, forming a demand profile very similar to previous years. In the monthly cumulative, the British even slightly strengthened their leadership to represent 48.6% of the total accommodated travelers, while the Spanish market remained stable at 34.8%.
