The Barcelona Urban Guard has arrested a man this afternoon suspected of having started the fire that burned ten hectares of the Collserola mountain range. A few minutes after the first flames were detected, a municipal police patrol patrolling Pearson Avenue saw a man acting suspiciously, quickly leaving the area. The police stopped him, identified him as he could not specify what he was doing there exactly, and among his belongings found two lighters.

Several witnesses who were in the same area in the moments before the fire started gave an account to the patrol about what the suspect was doing, which increased the evidence. Once the information was passed on to the Mossos d’Esquadra, the man was arrested and handed over to the Catalan police, who have taken charge of the investigation.
