The Rolling Stones have reached their fifteenth number 1 on the official UK albums chart with their new record, Foreign Tongues, thus matching an old record held by the Beatles.

The band’s twenty-fifth studio album was released on July 10 and features guest artists such as Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Chad Smith, drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
It also includes a special appearance by the late Rolling Stones drummer, Charlie Watts, in one of his last recording sessions before his death in 2021.
The last time the rock veterans reached number one on the official UK albums chart was with their 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, which won the Grammy for Best Rock Album.

At the Foreign Tongues launch party in London last week, Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood said they hoped to take the album on tour.
“Ronnie and I are very excited about the idea, so we hope to see everyone on the tour,” said Jagger, 82, to Reuters.
