The PP asks the Government to act in the face of the avalanche of immigrant arrivals in Ceuta. The secretary general of the PP, Miguel Tellado, has stated that what is happening in Ceuta is a “full-blown migratory crisis” because “200 people are arriving daily over the past few weeks” and, according to the popular leader, it is “evident that the Government must act in the face of this migratory collapse.”

In this regard, the president of Ceuta himself, Juan Jesús Vivas, who has asked the Government to declare a national emergency so that it assumes sole command, has said that in the last week, 1,500 people have entered, which “means the equivalent of almost 2% of the entire population” of the autonomous city. Tellado, for his part, has pointed out that the reception services “are overwhelmed” because “they are at 1,600% of their capacity.”
“It will not be for lack of warnings to the Government. We have been repeatedly warning over the past few months that what has happened is a dereliction of duties and today we know that this dereliction of duties has a huge cost for the people of Ceuta,” said Tellado, who recalled that the Government “is the one that has the powers in immigration.”
“And if it is not willing to assume them, what it has to do is give way to another Government that does assume them,” added the popular leader, who believes that Pedro Sánchez “has neglected his own responsibilities in immigration matters and has neglected the control of Spain’s borders.”
Ayuso
Tellado assures that it “makes perfect sense” to enable a “provisional” office with the purchase of the apartment while there are works in Sol
Tellado also referred to the acquisition by the Community of Madrid of an apartment to serve as a temporary office for President Isabel Díaz Ayuso and her team while works are carried out in the Puerta del Sol building, which is the seat of the regional government. In this regard, the left criticizes Ayuso to try to sow suspicion that the apartment has been acquired for residential use for her, but this is something the president herself has categorically denied and has assured that it is a space where “institutional meetings will be held provisionally” for the Community of Madrid.

In this regard, Tellado referred to the explanations given by the Community of Madrid on this matter. “The Community of Madrid has given the explanations. It is a comprehensive work at the headquarters of the presidency of the autonomous government and it makes perfect sense that for a provisional time a place is enabled. That is what has been explained and we adhere to those explanations,” said the secretary general of the PP, who reproached that there are PSOE ministers who come out “en masse against this issue when from the Government of Spain and through kickbacks payments have been made to ministers’ nieces,” referring to José Luis Ábalos.
Junts
Tellado accuses Sánchez of preparing a “self-pardon” with the pardon to Borràs
Tellado has also spoken about the Government’s pardon to Laura Borràs to prevent her from going to prison after being convicted in a corruption case. The PP leader avoided referring to Junts and focused on criticizing Sánchez since he considers that, with the grace measure for Borràs, he is preparing a “self-pardon.” “Sánchez came to Moncloa saying he was against pardoning corruption and now he seeks a kind of self-pardon for all the corruption that surrounds him,” said Tellado, who recalled that the PP’s democratic regeneration plan includes banning pardons for corruption.
Fires
The PP takes its plan with 50 measures to Congress
The secretary general of the PP has also announced that the PP will register in Congress a non-legislative proposal with 50 measures proposed by Alberto Núñez Feijóo a year ago to tackle fires. The measures, which are for “immediate” execution, include both prevention and extinction and aid for the victims.
Tellado has claimed that the PP’s plan was presented before the State Pact proposed by Sánchez, which was proposed in December – six months ago -.
