The Mossos d’Esquadra homicide group arrested a man this Thursday afternoon accused of being responsible for the homicide that occurred hours earlier in Nou Barris. The deceased and the woman had met at the workplace. The detainee has a record for fraud and gender-based violence.

The 112 emergency center received several calls alerting that a man had fallen off a motorcycle on Almansa street in the Nou Barris district. The emergency operator activated Urban Guard patrols and SEM ambulances, believing it was a traffic accident. The first officers discovered that the victim had several stab wounds on the face and neck.
On this occasion, the murder is not linked to drugs, organized crime, or common delinquency; it is allegedly a family conflict. The victim had been in a romantic relationship with a separated woman for some time. Her ex-partner found out about her new relationship.
Medical personnel began basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers right there until they were able to stabilize him and transfer him to the Vall d’Hebron hospital, where he died.

The Urban Guard alerted the Mossos d’Esquadra about the nature of the wounds, and as soon as the man’s death was confirmed, the Barcelona homicide group took over the investigation. Some witnesses told the first responding patrols that they saw a person fleeing the scene. Reports indicated a nearby apartment on Casals street, allegedly related to the victim’s assault, just a few meters from where the man collapsed. A Mossos Arro team entered the interior, but it was empty.
The confusion about whether the origin of the injuries was related to an accident was because the individual must have wanted to flee after being attacked on the motorcycle, but due to blood loss, he collapsed.
