Alfredo Avilés and his wife, Ana Isabel Sánchez Muñoz, both 52 years old, are parents of a 21-year-old daughter.

Avilés was a self-employed businessman with family roots in Medina del Campo (Valladolid) who worked as a freelance commercial agent for furniture, decoration, lighting, and interior architecture firms, based in Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid).

The couple are the two Spaniards who died among the thirteen fatalities in an accident that occurred this past Saturday around 1 p.m. local time (18:00 GMT) when a tourist plane they were traveling in, along with seven other Italian tourists, two Germans, and the pilot and co-pilot, both Peruvians, crashed for reasons under investigation.

The aircraft took off just after noon from Pisco airport, a coastal city located about 230 kilometers from Lima, to view from above the pre-Hispanic archaeological monument known as the Nazca Lines, located between Nazca and Palpa, in the ICA department.
