“And exactly the same thing will happen to us if the Republicans are not elected, but worse,” he added, referring to the midterm legislative elections next November. “They don’t know what to do, and it’s still happening today,” he added about Pedro Sánchez’s government, even though he has confirmed that more than 48,000 migrants are already returning to Morocco.
The White House’s reaction is not limited to Trump. Since yesterday, both the president and various government members, federal agencies, congressmen, and MAGA influencers have posted alarming videos of the Spanish enclave in North Africa through their social networks.

In its National Security Strategy, published in December, the White House already warned that European countries are on the brink of a “civilizational annihilation” in 20 years due to immigration. “If current trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less,” the Trump Administration stated in the document, which prioritized for the U.S. “to foster resistance to Europe’s current trajectory within the European nations themselves.” That is, supporting far-right ideological parties such as the German AfD, Fratelli d’Italia, National Rally, or Vox.

The statement also highlighted Rabat’s “key role” in the so-called Abraham Accords, the most successful diplomatic measure of Trump’s first term, through which several Arab countries normalized relations with Israel. In Morocco’s case, its signing meant Washington’s recognition of its sovereignty over the former Spanish colony. If the relationship between Morocco and the U.S. was always good — it was the first country in the world to recognize U.S. independence — it has strengthened since Trump’s arrival in politics.
