The investigative court number 6 of Ceuta has agreed to refer the case opened against the Government delegate in the autonomous city, Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano, to the National Court, following the express request of the National Court instructor María Tardón.

In an order, the court explains that related crimes must be investigated in the same case when joint investigation is convenient for their clarification and for the determination of responsibilities.
“From the complaint and the proceedings carried out, it appears that the facts investigated in Ceuta are part of the same factual and operational sequence that constitutes the object of the National Court’s proceedings, relating to the organization, mobilization, and effects of the massive entry of people from Morocco,” the resolution states.
The judge of Ceuta indicates that in the case opened by Tardón it has been expressly declared that the investigation must cover all actions carried out in Spanish territory related to said massive entry, “including those related to deaths occurring during the swim crossing, and has agreed to request inhibition from the judicial bodies of Ceuta regarding such facts.”
The judge resolved Tardón’s request in just 24 hours. Yesterday the magistrate asked him to send the case against Pérez Triano to investigate a crime against the territorial integrity of Spain among others, due to the massive entry of nearly 80,000 people from Morocco on July 30 and 31.

The complaint against the delegate holds that Pérez Triano would have been aware, through the National Intelligence Center (CNI), of possible approaches by immigrants and that, despite this, he would not have taken measures to prevent what is considered a crime against the independence and security of the State.
Precisely, last Friday the chief of staff of the Government delegate in the autonomous city, Gonzalo Sanz, resigned due to a discrepancy of versions about the avalanche warnings at the border between him and the Government delegate.
In his resignation letter, he assured that the warning that a CNI agent sent him via WhatsApp the day before the massive crossing was indeed passed on to Pérez Triano himself, who denied to the media having been aware of these communications, known after the declassification of documents agreed by the Government.
