The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced a new wave of attacks against Iran after bombing dozens of military targets, in response to Iranian attempts to attack U.S. troops deployed at bases in the Middle East.
The bombings targeted Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets, including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defense posts, as well as naval capabilities, the armed forces detailed on their official X account.

According to CENTCOM, the attacks aimed to reduce threats from Iran and its allied groups against U.S. forces, commercial navigation, and neighboring Gulf countries. The Command did not report any casualties or specific damage caused by the bombings.

The offensive comes a day after IRGC forces launched several ballistic missiles against U.S. positions in the Middle East, although all were intercepted, according to the U.S. military command. More than 50,000 U.S. soldiers remain deployed in the region, according to CENTCOM. Meanwhile, Jordan claims to have shot down five Iranian ballistic missiles on Thursday morning, in retaliation for the U.S. attacks.
Hours before the attack, U.S. President Donald Trump had indicated that they would respond forcefully to Iran’s surprise attacks in Jordan on Tuesday night. The new attacks show how the war is escalating despite attempts to reach a diplomatic agreement, and despite the words of the U.S. president, who assured that he would suspend fire due to new approaches with the Islamic Republic in search of a new peace agreement. The conflict, which seems entrenched again, is approaching its fifth month.
