London’s Shakespeare’s Globe has bet on flamenco to reinvent one of William Shakespeare’s most sophisticated comedies, ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ (1598), in a production that combines Elizabethan verse, singing, and dancing with a cast that includes several Spanish artists.
Directed by Indiana Lown-Collins, a 33-year-old Anglo-Spanish woman raised in Pinoso (Alicante), the play premieres this Wednesday amid great anticipation, as it is the first time the theater brings flamenco to its stage, and it will remain on the bill until September 13.
