It is well known that the Spanish footballer arouses passions wherever he goes. Even more so after giving Spain the victory in the World Cup final against Argentina. Internet users on social media have analyzed the forward in detail and point to his mane as his great attraction.

But Torres has not always worn this hairstyle. In fact, his hairdresser Nando Díaz has explained that the footballer’s mane was not achieved overnight, but that the change of look has been developing over the last nine months.

Less than a year ago, the Barcelona footballer sported the classic buzz cut, straight at the forehead and with a fade on the sides. In statements to Hola, the stylist explained that the hairstyle was already becoming a bit outdated, so they decided to make a change: “We wanted to convey a new concept. We were a bit tired of the fade and thought that long hair was a very good option to enhance his face,” says Díaz.

The idea was to go from a more youthful image to a more mature look. “We saw that long hair would flatter him and enhance his features better,” the stylist acknowledges in the same statements. The change took time, specifically, nine months of transition.

“The most complicated part was going through different looks, because they were not yet the final style. We had to recondition the hair little by little until it reached the desired length,” assures Díaz, who points out two essential gestures for caring for this type of mane: the first is not to apply too many products to style it, and the second is to always use your hands to care for and manage it.
