In this regard, Fajula stated that the project is crucial to gaining technological sovereignty in the face of the challenges of artificial intelligence and the dominance of China and the United States. Nevertheless, Fajula is convinced that the Iberian candidacy positions itself as one of the three big winners of the European Union. A large data center is planned in Móra la Nova, in addition to two other delegations in Madrid and Portugal.

Last July, a public-private consortium was formalized that contemplates an initial investment of 1.5 billion euros for the launch of the gigafactory. Among the members of the consortium, the central government (SETT) stands out, with 47% control; the Generalitat, ACS, Telefónica, Banco Santander, and Multiverse Computing.
