Real Madrid announced this Thursday that it officially calls elections for President and Board of Directors of the club and sets the dates to submit candidacies, which range from today until May 23, both included, that is, 9 days.

The club sent a communication to all members today detailing the electoral process once the elections have been called.
Candidates must meet the requirements of being of legal age, Spanish nationality, and having been a member for at least twenty uninterrupted years, as well as not being subject to a sanction that disqualifies them from holding executive positions, according to the club’s statutes.
They also cannot hold positions of responsibility in other clubs, nor be active as a player, referee, coach, or technician at the time of being proclaimed as a candidate.
Another requirement is to present a guarantee of 187 million euros, which is equivalent to fifteen percent of the club’s annual budget, which must be backed by personal assets.
Pérez confirmed in his appearance before the media on Tuesday that he will run for re-election, and the question is whether businessman Enrique Riquelme, president of the Cox group, will run, who assured from Mexico City yesterday, Wednesday, that he will make a decision “in the coming days.”

The admission and proclamation of the lists that compete will be made the day after they are submitted, adds the Real Madrid information note, signed by the secretary of the Electoral Board, Raúl Castellanos.
Against the proclamation or rejection of candidacies, an appeal can be filed before the Electoral Board within two calendar days following notification and publication.
In case there is more than one list, the electoral body will make public the date and place of the voting.
Members can check their inclusion or exclusion in the census from this Thursday until next Monday, the 18th, at the member service offices, with uninterrupted hours from 9:00 to 19:00, or online through the enabled platform.
If any anomaly is observed, members can file complaints before the Electoral Board within the same five-day period.
