Alberto Núñez Feijóo has attacked Pedro Sánchez, who gave explanations this Thursday about his management of the Ceuta crisis. The leader of the PP has called for Sánchez’s resignation for being “complicit” or “incompetent” in the crossing of more than 70,000 people to Ceuta from Morocco and has warned: “He will pay for it in the courts and the polls.”
Pedro Sánchez appeared this Thursday before the plenary session of the Congress of Deputies to provide explanations about the management of the Ceuta crisis following the massive entry of 72,000 people from Morocco and a day after a police report emerged pointing to possible involvement of Moroccan agents in the development of the assault. Before a chamber awaiting the responsibilities of the neighboring country for the events that occurred on July 30 and 31 and the possible warnings received by the Government, the head of government defended that “it cannot be concluded” that the massive entry was “designed by Morocco,” although he admitted that it will be necessary to investigate whether there was “inaction or incapacity” on the part of the Moroccan authorities.
The demonstrations in support of Ceuta called by the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces – chaired by the PP – were held this Wednesday in the main Spanish capitals as well as in Ceuta, where thousands of people marched on the way to the border with Morocco in protest of the situation. These protests, initially called in support of the autonomous city and held in more than 700 locations across Spain, became a cry against the central Government’s management of this migratory crisis that has lasted more than a month, where PP and Vox have been the protagonists.
The police report analyzes in detail the phase prior to the assault on the Ceuta border on July 31, the operational strategy at the time, and its subsequent consequences. In 55 pages, the officials of the National Immigration and Borders Center outline the prior planning to mobilize a massive flow; the existence of a strategic and operational direction and two objectives. The first, to collapse the border management system; and the second, to eliminate Spain’s response capacity.
First came the youngest, males between 15 and 25 years old, of Moroccan nationality, wearing wetsuits. Next, people up to 40 years old, family groups, and small children, mostly in sportswear and flip-flops. And lastly, the sub-Saharan Africans. The thousands of migrants who irregularly crossed the Ceuta border at the end of July did not do so spontaneously and disorderly, but following a “plan” that the National Police attribute to Morocco and describe as a tactic, in the report sent to the judge of the National Court María Tardón and which La Vanguardia has accessed.
The report that the National Police has delivered to the National Court on the Ceuta crisis concludes that the migratory purpose was only “the formal cover” to promote, encourage, and direct a flood of people to the Ceuta border.

He knew an invasion was coming and did not defend the territorial integrity and Spanish sovereignty of Ceuta. They must resign and call elections now,” shouted the secretary general of the European Popular Party, Dolors Montserrat, in a statement to the media.
Alberto Núñez Feijóo has called for immediate measures from Pedro Sánchez after the report prepared by the National Police was made public, which, according to El Español, would point to Morocco as responsible for the massive entry of more than 70,000 immigrants into Ceuta at the end of July. In this regard, the leader of the PP, who has stated that the Government “knew and covered it up,” has demanded that Sánchez urgently summon the Moroccan ambassador to Spain.
The Director General of the National Police, Francisco Pardo, has informed the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, that “there is no police report whatsoever” attributing to Morocco the planning or execution of what happened on July 30 and 31 in Ceuta, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
