The Partido Popular took a new step this Monday in its offensive against the Government’s management of the Ceuta crisis. The Deputy Secretary of Institutional Regeneration, Cuca Gamarra, has announced the submission to Congress of a non-legislative proposal (PNL) with eleven measures to “restore normality” in the autonomous city, including the activation of the National Security Law and the establishment of a single State command to assume coordination of the response.

In the eye of the hurricane due to the failed acquisition of a luxury penthouse through a regional public company of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso starred this Monday in a new attempt to regain control of the agenda. She did so in the vineyards of the Las Moradas de San Martín winery, in San Martín de Valdeiglesias, where she traveled to stage the region’s recovery after the devastating fires suffered in July. Although the president did not hesitate to sideline regional issues to resort, once again, to her best-known formula: shifting the focus of the controversies of her own management towards Pedro Sánchez.

The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, announced after an in-person meeting with the President of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, that this Monday four new humanitarian care centers will be deployed on a “temporary and extraordinary” basis to provide services to immigrants who have been in the autonomous city since the end of July. The Government spokesperson also specified that the opening of these spaces will allow for housing 1,500 migrants.

The president of Ceuta, the popular Juan Jesús Vivas, has reiterated his criticisms of the Government, which he has accused of “whitewashing the reality” that the autonomous city is experiencing, and has announced that he will turn to “other State instances,” including the judiciary, if the Executive does not resolve the crisis within 30 days.
