The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, has demanded that the Director of the National Police, Francisco Pardo, inform him “as soon as possible” about the content of a report that the National Immigration and Borders Center (CENIF) would have sent to the National Court attributing Morocco to the massive assault on the Ceuta border. In a letter sent last night, to which La Vanguardia has had access, the Interior Minister reminds Pardo that, if the information detailing that Moroccan gendarmes planned and executed the entry is true, it should have been “immediately made available to the members of the National Security Council.”

Because for the Minister of the Interior, it would be information that should also be in the hands of the members of the National Security Council, the functional authority designated by royal decree of the President of the Government, and other bodies with competencies in this area. Marlaska explains that this demand is “regardless of the judicial actions that may be carried out,” which are currently at an early stage, so it cannot “prevent the State Security Forces and Corps from immediately informing the Minister of the Interior, who is responsible for exercising the highest command in matters of internal security.”
In this way, the Interior Minister closes the letter “thanking” Pardo for informing him “as soon as possible about the truthfulness of what has been published and, if applicable, for sending me the information that the National Police has on the matter, as well as any that may be known in the future.”
