The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested this Tuesday in Badalona a Senegalese citizen who attacked a woman walking with her two small children with a broken bottle. The victim received cuts on the head and was able to protect her neck with her arms, where she also received several blows. The suspect did not know the woman at all.

The individual had been arrested on Monday for disobedience and disturbances in a Dia franchise supermarket, in the Pomar neighborhood of Badalona. In recent days, he frequented the area and especially that store, which, according to some sources, he had become obsessed with. This Tuesday he appeared before a judge and after being released, the man went back to the supermarket.
Parked at the door was a Mossos patrol car from the station, with one of the community relations officers talking to the supermarket workers. The suspect grabbed a bottle from the street, broke it, and started attacking the first woman passing by with her two children, hitting her in the upper part. The screams alerted the mossos who were in the supermarket, who first assisted the victim and her children, and broadcasted the suspect’s escape over the radio; he was arrested a few meters from the place. This Tuesday afternoon, the individual remained in the Badalona police station and will appear before a judge again on Wednesday.

Last week he was also arrested in that same establishment, where he tried to commit several pickpocket thefts, but when discovered by the supermarket workers, he reacted violently and fled. On another occasion, the patrol caught him practically inside trying to steal, and since the reaction was also aggressive, he was brought before a judge accused of violent robbery, but in the attempt stage.
This time, he will appear before a judge for attempted homicide. The victim had to be treated and cared for at the Can Ruti hospital before giving a statement at the police station.
