Klassmark, a Catalan company organizing outdoor sports events, including the notable The Traka, has reached an agreement with RPM, a sports events company of the Godó Group, to join forces in developing the events they carry out, with sensitivity to environmental respect. Klassmark’s motto, ‘No nature no future’, has always represented an organization focused on enhancing natural spaces. The Traka is a global benchmark in gravel cycling.

RPM, belonging to the Godó Group, is the company that organizes the Barcelona half marathon and marathon and the San Sebastián marathon. It also develops the iconic Titan Desert, currently held in Morocco, Almería, Patagonia, and Mexico. In its connection with cycling, it also organizes the Mussara, four cycling tourism events that bring 3,000 riders to Salou and numerous cyclists to the Montmeló, Jarama, and Villanueva de la Cañada circuits.
The project is focused on enhancing natural spaces through sports events
Gerard Freixes, founder of Klassmark along with Cristina Bosch, commented on the three pillars on which the agreement has revolved: “After so many years building this project from Girona, we understood that its future could not depend solely on us. We needed to strengthen our structure, protect the identity and ownership of the brands, and boost our international expansion with more capacity.”
“Today we can share that we are joining forces with Grupo Godó, a group with extensive experience in communication, sports marketing, and organizing major events,” he added. For both Gerard and Cristina, the essence does not change. “What changes is our ability to protect it and take it further.” Both will remain fully involved in the project. “Klassmark will continue to be Klassmark: the same name, the same team, the same roots, and the same way of understanding sport, community, and territory.”

For RPM, the agreement represents the union of two organizations linked to the world of sport, especially cycling and running, both with a strong commitment to the environment and territory. The idea of the Godó Group is to maintain all the excellent values of Klassmark’s legendary events and add experience and strength to what is an exciting future adventure.
More than 200 events organized since 2019
Klassmark is a Girona-based company that, since 2009, creates sports events with the idea that sport is a way to discover, connect, and enhance the territory. With more than 200 events organized, Klassmark has established itself as one of the leading organizers of outdoor sports in our country.
In 2019, when gravel was just beginning to make its way, The Traka was born. What started in Girona with fewer than 100 participants has become one of the most iconic dates on the international calendar, bringing together thousands of cyclists from more than 80 nationalities. The success of The Traka has driven projects such as the Gravel Earth Series, one of the main international gravel circuits, with events spread across Europe, the United States, and Africa, and By The Traka, a universe of events with its own identity formed by Santa Vall, in Girona; Gravel Desert, in Huesca; Rancho Gravel, in Lleida; and The River, in the Belgian Ardennes. Beyond gravel, Klassmark continues to promote leading trail events such as the Trail Cap de Creus, the Trail Costa Brava, and the Girona Mountain Race.
