The truth is that this area has little to do with what many remember from just a couple of decades ago. It all started in the early 2000s, when the old hotels that occupied the area began to give way to a new generation of luxury accommodations. First came Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and, shortly after, Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza. Last year Unexpected opened, and this 2026, it was the turn of Bless Ibiza The Site, which occupies the space of the former Hard Rock Hotel after a deep renovation. There are 461 rooms designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, who hit the mark perfectly. Warm tones, whites, and earthy colors combine with natural materials, such as linen, wood, or stone, to create a serene and welcoming atmosphere. The feeling of calm is surprising, especially considering that right opposite stands the Unexpected tower, where there are live concerts every day and music accompanies almost any hour.
Although the hotel has two pools with water beds, sun loungers, cabanas, and a pool bar, it is worth swapping chlorine for salt. Just take off your shoes and walk a few steps to the beach. The curious thing is that very few dare to spread their towel on the sand, so there is plenty of space. It is a perfect place to take a swim while watching the comings and goings of those walking towards the Ses Portes tower. Afterwards, back at the hotel, a foot shower by the beach access allows you to remove the annoying sand.
But The Site is more than just a hotel: it is a cultural and commercial space with fashion boutiques, event spaces, and a gallery with exhibitions by local artists. All in one place.
Gastronomic ‘Hub’
If for years the main attraction was the music of the DJs, present almost any time of day, from the pools to the rooftops — because here, let’s be honest, there isn’t a single establishment without its own soundtrack — now the focus has shifted. Gastronomy has gained enormous weight and has become one of the main reasons to come here.
And it is hard to find another place where, within just a few meters, the restaurants of Gordon Ramsay, Paco Roncero, David Muñoz, and Dani García coexist, all of them recognized with Michelin stars. Moreover, the offer continues to grow with well-established names like Coya or Tatel, which are also part of this attractive gastronomic scene.

The big novelty this year has been the arrival of Leña and Lobito de Mar, two very different concepts from the Dani García group that further expand the culinary experience of the destination. Lobito de Mar opens from noon until early night and offers a journey to traditional Andalusian beach bars, reinterpreted with the unmistakable island atmosphere. The space feels welcoming from the first moment. The bougainvilleas, completely natural, climb and wrap every corner with their pink tones. It invites you to linger after the meal sitting facing the sea. On its menu, fish, seafood, and other sea products, like the surprising black octopus and sobrasada fideuá, are the true protagonists.
Leña, on the other hand, opens exclusively for dinners and is located inside Bless. As soon as you cross the door, the lighting, with large circles suspended from the ceiling, envelops the space in an atmosphere reminiscent of fire and embers. This play of lights already anticipates what will come later to the table. Meat, in its multiple cuts and preparations, continues to be the main protagonist of the menu, although there is also room for vegetables, seafood, and fish. Among its most special proposals is Fire & Caviar, an exclusive creation for the island that adds even more personality to the offer. The experience is completed with a signature cocktail menu, with and without alcohol, created to enhance the flavors of the embers.
Another big surprise of the season has been the opening of StreetXO Ibiza. Dabiz Muñoz’s most casual and rebellious proposal lands on the island with vibrant cuisine and an unconventional space. Neon lights, dark tones, and a large bar with a theatrical touch mark the beginning of the journey. Then, illuminated stairs lead to a completely open kitchen. The aromas invade everything and the bustle is part of the experience: a show for the five senses.
Coya is the beach club of Bless, a space with direct access to the beach and a good atmosphere. The restaurant offers surprising high-end Peruvian cuisine, accompanied by creative cocktails, while the indoor bar becomes the place where everyone wants to be when the afternoon begins.
What to see in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia
Ses Salines
Near playa d’en Bossa, heading south, the PM-802 road travels dusty paths that pass through some of the most beautiful corners of the island, between practically virgin beaches and the impressive salt ponds of the Ses Salines natural park.
This protected area covers about 3,000 hectares of land and nearly 13,000 hectares of sea.
Salt has been extracted here since Phoenician times, a resource that was essential for preserving food and that also boosted the island’s trade and wealth. If
you have time, it is worth visiting the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta to better understand
its history. Today, salt is still extracted, although in a regulated and respectful way to avoid damaging the ecosystem.
The path advances through a fabulous landscape, among the impressive salt ponds, which change
color according to their salinity, leaving you amazed. At the end of the path, there is a small parking lot
next to the Experimental Beach beach bar and, very close, a
quiet beach where large crowds rarely gather. Perhaps it is because instead of fine sand, the shore forms a pebble beach, which causes
many visitors to pass by, although swimming here is priceless. A few kilometers away are other spectacular beaches on the island, such as Es Cavallet
or Ses Salines. These do have fine white sand and turquoise waters; but they are also better known and tend to be more crowded and busy.

Concerts at Ushuaïa
Not every day do you have the opportunity to enjoy live some of the most important DJs on the international scene. And the truth is that, in this case, it is as easy as crossing the street and entering the iconic Ushuaïa stage. Names like David Guetta, elrow Ibiza, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, ANTS, or Swedish House Mafia are part of a lineup that turns any afternoon into an unforgettable experience.
Sessions start at five in the afternoon and end around eleven at night. People dress for the occasion, lots of glitter, glitter makeup, but there are all kinds of looks, and yes, it is hot, especially in the middle of summer, so you sweat a lot but in the end, it is part of the experience. Dancing, meeting people, enjoying the music. It is one of those things worth doing.
