Feijóo celebrates the victory in Andalusia and sets out for the general elections to lead the “change” in Spain

Alberto Núñez Feijóo has celebrated the “clear, undeniable and broad” victory of the PP in Andalusia and has already set his sights on the general elections, which are expected to be held from May next year. The leader of the PP believes that Juanma Moreno’s victory brings Spain closer to “another way of governing” and, in this regard, he has announced that, until the general elections, he will focus on promoting his political project without falling into the “distractions” of the Government, a veiled reference to controversies surrounding Pedro Sánchez or corruption problems.

“We will not stop denouncing their aberrations, but we will not get entangled in their traps. People already know the problem, which is the Government. People want solutions for the family economy, taxes, housing, security, immigration, and public services: we are going to give them,” Feijóo summarized in his speech at the party’s Board of Directors meeting, attended by numerous barons. After the Andalusian elections, the path is clear with no elections until May next year, with municipal and some regional elections. The forecast is that, after that date, the general elections will be held.

Feijóo pointed out that the most important goal the PP has now is to achieve change in Spain “in direction, with values and with a State project that will start today.” “There is no fucking boss here. I am a servant. And that is also the change,” he said, referring to Pedro Sánchez’s PSOE.

Feijóo not only wanted to show his roadmap until the general elections, which will be based on the sectoral proposals he has been making in recent months (from mental health to infrastructure to the energy model) and on the political report approved at the last July congress. The leader of the PP also wanted to show the tone and manner, marking certain distances with Vox: “We are not a majority of anger.”
