According to the journalist, all terms have been verbally agreed between Mourinho and Real Madrid, pending the signing of all documents this month. The initial plan is a two-year agreement and the coach will travel to Spain after the last match of the season, with Álvaro Arbeloa leading the team, against Athletic Club.
The official announcement of the signing is conditioned on the progress of the Real Madrid presidential elections. Next Saturday is the last day to submit candidacies to the electoral board. If Enrique Riquelme does not run, the announcement of Mourinho could take place the same Sunday. On the other hand, if Florentino Pérez ends up having a rival at the polls, an electoral process would open that could delay the announcement of the Portuguese.

The coach added that there was a “99% chance of staying at Benfica,” as he has a contract with the Lisbon club and a renewal proposal, which he says he has not yet seen. Despite this, he left his future up in the air, which is getting closer to Madrid every day.
