A Russian drone has hit the locomotive of a Ukrainian train traveling from Kyiv to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, just two kilometers from the border, although no one was injured, according to the Ukrzaliznitsia railway company reported this Sunday.

“For the second consecutive day, the enemy is attacking the railways. Today in Volyn, two kilometers from the border with Poland, the enemy struck the locomotive of a passenger train,” the state company denounced on Telegram.
The train crew was able to be warned of the threat in advance and thanks to this there were no injuries, explained the company, which did not specify whether the train was stopped or moving at the time of the impact.
The Polish Minister of Defense, Wladyslaw Kosniak-Kamysz, reported this Sunday that one of the drones used by Russia last night to attack Ukraine had hit just one kilometer from the Polish border, and another at five kilometers.
He stated that these were Geran-5 type jet-propelled attack drones, which however did not violate Polish airspace, he said on X.
Since a dozen Russian drones were detected over western Ukraine at dawn, military aircraft were activated to protect Polish airspace if necessary, according to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
