The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) raised this Saturday to two the number of Spanish nationals located, after estimating three missing, following the massive flood that has caused more than 600 deaths and nearly 3,000 people unaccounted for in Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region (China).

The official body included two Spaniards in the located section, specifying that they are in communication with the authorities and have not been rescued, in its latest update of the list of missing foreigners published at 13:30 local time (07:45 GMT).
According to the NTB report, a total of 184 foreign tourists have been rescued alive after the flood last Wednesday in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli basins, while 3 are located and in contact with the authorities, including the two Spaniards. Another 420 remain completely cut off.
This latest report, which gathers information from travel agencies, hotels, and authorities, adds that the Nepalese authorities maintain close coordination with diplomatic missions from several countries to find the whereabouts of their nationals.

The tourism board confirmed the full reopening of the strategic highway that connects Kathmandu with Mugling, vital to restore communications and transport the deceased and rescued, although it warned that many sections remain closed in the areas most affected by the floods in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha.
The Nepalese authorities raised this Saturday the death toll to 626 and the number of people unaccounted for to 2,426 after Wednesday’s flood, so that, adding the victims in China in the Tibetan county of Gyirong, the separate counts from both sides now reach 633 dead and nearly 3,000 missing.
