Comisiones Obreras and UGT claim that they decided to hold the May 1st demonstration in Málaga long before Juanma Moreno dissolved the Andalusian parliament and called for elections on May 17. The truth is that today, the first day of the Andalusian electoral campaign, coincided with the march through the center of the Málaga capital with the union leaders at the front and a little further back the left-wing candidates in these elections, including María Jesús Montero and the Government spokesperson, Elma Saiz, the Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, and Antonio Maíllo, candidate of Por Andalucía. ç

This afternoon, Sánchez will also be in Málaga where he will hold a rally alongside the socialist candidate in Cártama, a municipality governed by the socialists on the outskirts of Málaga.
Especially striking was the appearance made, before the demonstration began, by Antonio Maíllo, the candidate of the Por Andalucía coalition, the conglomerate in which Podemos also participates, with the Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz. Maíllo has been one of the architects of the change of course of Sumar and, consequently, of the step aside announced by Díaz who has already said she will not run again in general elections. For now, Yolanda Díaz is not expected to participate in any electoral event of Maíllo’s campaign.
As can be imagined, neither Díaz nor Maíllo addressed their internal disputes in their appearance on a street adjacent to the avenue where the demonstration was taking place and through which all the candidates passed. Díaz has supported the left-wing candidacy because, she has assured, “it does matter who governs” Andalusia.
Díaz has defended the decree to contain rent prices and assures that they will take it back to Congress
Yolanda Díaz has reproached “those who get rich handsomely” in a city like Málaga whose real estate prices break all records. On this issue, she has announced that they will take back to Congress the decree that extends the rents and that was overturned by the votes of PP, Vox, and Junts per Catalunya.

For her part, María Jesús Montero, the candidate of the Andalusian socialists, has called for the mobilization of workers in defense of their rights which she sees at risk in Andalusia after eight consecutive years of government by the Popular Juanma Moreno.
The socialist leader, who during her speech had to listen to some whistles countered by shouts of “president” from some socialist militants, tries to mobilize the socialist electorate in a campaign that starts especially sluggish for the left.
For his part, the president of the Junta and PP-A candidate for re-election, Juanma Moreno, announced this Friday that if he continues in office his government will have a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Technological Development.
Moreno, who celebrates his birthday this May 1, participated on this first day of the campaign in the event ‘Strategic Dialogue. The New Andalusia’, at the Abades Triana restaurant, in Seville, reports Europa Press, alongside Andalusian businessmen.
Meanwhile, the far right held its main event on May 1 in Jaen. There the Solidaridad union, linked to this ultranationalist formation, denounced that the Provincial Electoral Board in Jaén prevented the demonstration called on May 1 from ending at the place where a Vox electoral event was held in the city. The demonstration did not take place after not being authorized by the Electoral Board.
