Officers from the National Police and the Civil Guard have been deployed early in the morning at El Trampolín beach, where the majority of immigrants who remain in the autonomous city since the mass crossing are concentrated, for the transfer of people to two of the new reception centers enabled by the Government, which already have 1,800 beds.

One of the spaces where the immigrants will go is the Parking del Embolsamiento, which this morning was found after a night of strong wind with the tarps of the military tents on the ground, which are already being raised without incidents.
The transfer to the facilities has been taking place since 07:00 voluntarily within the framework of a coordinated operation with the State security forces and bodies and the Government of Ceuta.
The primary objective of this action, according to sources from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, is “to respond to the situation of people who were homeless in the area of El Trampolín beach and Loma Colmenar,” offering them an alternative accommodation and reception that allows them not to have to continue spending the night in public spaces or on the beach itself.

Both spaces, according to the same sources, will be progressively expanded as the adaptation works of the other planned sites are completed.
The police deployment is part of the extraordinary operation launched by the Government, in collaboration with third sector entities, such as Engloba or ACCEM; to reinforce the reception capacity in Ceuta, which has been experiencing a humanitarian emergency in its streets since more than 80,000 people crossed the border from Morocco 21 days ago.
Although the majority left Spain in the days following the influx, thousands decided to remain in its streets awaiting reception. Among them, there are numerous groups of sub-Saharan Africans, who come from countries that are usually granted international protection, and unaccompanied minors, who cannot be summarily or immediately expelled.
