The White House reacted this Tuesday to the cap with the message ‘Make Spain Great Again’ worn by footballer Ferran Torres during the celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup title through the streets of Madrid.
“Everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon,” the White House assured -in a message published on the social network X-, in which it cited a Fox News publication with a video shared by Torres on his social media.
The cap worn by the Valencian footballer is an adaptation of Donald Trump’s iconic political slogan, ‘Make America Great Again’ (‘Make the U.S. great again’ or ‘MAGA’ for its acronym in English) which he popularized in his election campaigns and which usually appears on his characteristic red caps.

Conservative movements in other countries have also adapted Trump’s slogan to their own national realities, trying to emulate the success of the American president.
