After the new proposal from Educació, which suggested accelerating the payments of salary increases and tutoring supplements, Professors de Secundària decided not to attend Wednesday’s table and today CGT left the third meeting considering that only inclusive schooling was being discussed and not salaries, as planned.

This Thursday, Ustec, Professors de Secundària (Aspepc-sps) and CGT sent the Govern a counterproposal with a salary section that would consist of adding a supplement for all teaching staff between 478 and 544 euros until 2029 and another regarding staffing, in which they demand achieving 6,400 new positions.
After the meeting, Ustec spokesperson Iolanda Segura explained that the department has not had time to analyze their counterproposal, so she urged the Govern to come to Friday’s meeting at 12 p.m. with a response to continue negotiating on pay matters.
“If tomorrow they don’t come prepared, without a proposal, we will escalate the conflict. We have not come to waste time,” Segura emphasized, insisting that if they do not find themselves in this scenario, they will leave the negotiations.

The Govern commits to studying it
The Secretary of Educational Improvement, Ignasi Giménez, considered the meeting “positive” and assured that the department will now study the content of the received counterproposal because although there are “maximum proposals,” they also detect “interesting elements.”

The spokesperson for the Education Federation of CC.OO. of Catalonia, Ester Vila, said the document contains “many measures that need to be analyzed” and that the new budgetary scenario opens the possibility of improving teachers’ salaries.
On the UGT side, the head of Public Education of the entity, Lorena Martínez, said she had not been able to analyze the text, which “has only been sent to Educació,” and showed her willingness to listen this Friday to the salary proposals of the strike organizers.
