Jannik Sinner has just won Wimbledon, reaching his 100th victory in Grand Slam tournaments in the final against Alexander Zverev and continues to consolidate himself as the number one in the world. However, there is one challenge that still eludes the Italian: the driving test. The champion surprised by confessing that he has already failed it four times.

The anecdote came during the traditional Wimbledon Champions Dinner, held at the historic Raffles London, former building of the British War Ministry. Sinner appeared past midnight with the trophy under his arm to meet with about 270 guests, including members of the All England Club and personalities linked to the tournament.
As soon as he went on stage, the presenter warned him that he would have to answer some difficult questions. Jannik Sinner responded with laughter: “Don’t ask me difficult questions: I’ve had a little to drink.”
Sinner’s most unexpected confession
The relaxed atmosphere allowed us to learn an unusual side of the world number one. After talking about the emotion his mother experienced during the final, the Italian revealed a curious personal story that caused the attendees to burst out laughing.
Before traveling to London, he had taken the driving test again. The result was the same as on previous occasions.
“It’s the fourth time. Maybe it’s better if I keep playing tennis,” joked Jannik Sinner, aware of the irony of dominating the world circuit while still not getting his license.

The confession quickly went viral among tennis fans. It is striking that a player capable of defeating the best tennis players on the planet, winning Grand Slam titles, and reaching 100 victories on the big stages still has not been able to pass a driving test.

During the gala, there was also room for a much more emotional moment. Asked about his mother’s reaction, Siglinde, who left the stands during the final after seeing her son lose the first set in the tie-break, Sinner gave one of the most sincere answers of the night.
“I’m not a father yet. I don’t know what it means to see a son play on the center court at Wimbledon,” he explained.
The answer showed the most human side of the Italian champion, who went from joking about his failures behind the wheel to reflecting on the role his family has played in his career.
While he continues to accumulate titles and break records on the court, Sinner already has a new goal outside of tennis. After four failed attempts, the world number one hopes that next time he can finally defeat the only rival that still eludes him: the driving test.
