Isak Andic was 71 years old when on December 14, 2024, he died after falling from one of the Montserrat trails, which he was walking alone with his firstborn Jonathan. It was the first time in ten years that father and son went for a walk together, according to the Mossos d’Esquadra after analyzing all the messages they exchanged in the last ten years and which the deceased kept religiously on his phone. Jonathan Andic, accused of the homicide of his father, told the police that these outings were “usual.” This statement was “denied” in the latest order signed by the judge of Martorell, Raquel Nieto, and to which La Vanguardia has had access.

A 27-page document dated after the arrest of Jonathan Andic and his subsequent release after posting a one million euro bail, which provides some clues about the judicial investigation and the evolution of the investigation by the Mossos of Martorell, with the support of other specialized units, such as the forensic analysis team that took charge of the mobiles.
The police analyzed all the messages between Isak and Jonathan from the last ten years that the father kept
The order reveals another previously unknown element: the magistrate’s interest in investigating the role played by the family therapist who recently attended several family members.
This professional, Ecuadorian with residence in Germany and who periodically travels to Barcelona to hold consultations, was already mentioned in the detention order. And this was when the magistrate referred to Jonathan Andic’s “obsession” with money and that the accused had even “pressured and manipulated” his father until he ceded part of his inheritance during his lifetime, if the father wanted to maintain the family relationship. The magistrate has asked the Mossos (not in this order nor in any previous one appearing in the case file, according to defense sources) to determine “the existence of a third person who directly or indirectly participated in the events.” The investigators determined that the therapist, who already testified at the police station and invoked professional secrecy to avoid answering certain questions, acted in favor of Jonathan Andic receiving that money.

This latest judicial resolution reiterates the “active, premeditated, and prepared participation” of Jonathan Andic in his father’s death. And to determine that possible participation or influence “of third parties,” the judge justifies the need to know the identity and content of all communications the accused made in December 2024. And that “could shed light on the process of planning the excursion proposal, and whether other people could have intervened or not.”
The now known document also reveals how the judge ordered the six operators that provide coverage to the Montserrat area where Isak Andic died, the identity of all the people whose phones connected at that point on the days Jonathan Andic had already visited that path: December 7 and 10, to confirm if anyone was related to the accused. It is assumed that they found no one because if the result had been positive, the judge would have cited that connection in the detention order.
