The Government of the Generalitat will present today the events of the Diada of the Eleventh of September of this year, which marks the 50th anniversary since the recovery of this festivity after the death of Franco. The socialist Executive will dedicate the celebration to the diversity of Catalonia, where identity is born from diversity, plurality, and coexistence.

Starting from the memory of the first Diada after the dictatorship, in Sant Boi de Llobregat (Baix Llobregat), where thousands of people gathered to claim freedoms, this year’s campaign depicts a Catalan society that, according to the Government, “advances thanks to complicity, cohesion, and democratic commitment.”
The image of the campaign, created by the artist Javier Jaén, is made up of hundreds of footprints that symbolize a sum of individualities that form a collective. With this image, it aims to represent a diverse citizenship capable of achieving progress by joining efforts.
