Just over a month ago, coinciding with the start of the conflict, the board of directors of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) assessed the impact of the Middle East war on drug supply. It did not detect major disruptions, but it did warn that the persistence of logistical difficulties could increase the risk of shortages. The pharmaceutical sector sees the probability of shortages of ingredients, medicines, or medical devices becoming increasingly likely.
