The socialist councilor of Náquera (Valencia) Víctor Navarro has resigned after suffering “various episodes of high stress” that lead him to “stop” and take some time off, according to a statement.

The councilor would have resigned as councilor after testing positive for drugs in a police check in the early hours of this May 1, according to several newspapers.

The spokesperson of the socialist group also states that it has been an honor to serve as leader of the opposition during these three years, and thanks his group and those who trusted him by giving their vote, as well as the people of Náquera for “the pride of having been a representative” of the municipality during this time, according to what he has posted on social media.
