A coach accident recorded this Thursday near the alpine town of Susch, in the canton of Graubünden (eastern Switzerland), has resulted in several fatalities and multiple injuries, according to the cantonal police. The vehicle, chartered by the tour operator OAD, was carrying 48 passengers, all of Dutch nationality, and was headed to Austria as its final destination after starting its route last Monday.

The incident, which according to the local media Engadiner Post is preliminarily described as an accident without other vehicles involved, occurred on a stretch of road that had been under construction for some time. Images released by the Swiss newspaper Blick show the coach overturned on one of its sides, surrounded by a large deployment of helicopters and emergency vehicles.

The center is in the inventory phase, assessing the magnitude of the accident before coordinating the next steps.
