Alberto Núñez Feijóo has limited himself in recent hours to making demands to the Government to respond to the arrival of 50,000 immigrants from Morocco. However, once most of those people have been returned and the situation seems more or less under control, the leader of the PP has already moved on to demanding accountability from the Government, whom he has blamed for what happened. “What has happened here is not just another incident, it is a premeditated and unprecedented occupation of Spanish territory. It is not something unforeseeable either,” he stated.

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) considers that the Amnesty law aims to reduce institutional and political tensions and promote a scenario of “reconciliation.” That was one of the central messages conveyed yesterday in the reading of a ruling that supports the law, dispels much of the doubt about its fit within European Union law, and clears one of the main legal obstacles for the return of former president Carles Puigdemont, Antoni Comín, and Lluís Puig.

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has endorsed this Thursday the Amnesty law approved by the Congress in 2024 in response to the preliminary questions raised about criminal oblivion by both the Court of Auditors and the National Court, regarding the possibility of amnestying embezzlement crimes, on the one hand, and terrorism, on the other. The CJEU must indicate whether the rule approved by the Congress in 2024 is compatible with the EU legal framework.
