TMB will take advantage of this month and a half of closure to carry out a comprehensive track renovation between the Santa Eulàlia and Mercat Nou stations, which have the particularity of presenting a significant slope and being among the few places in the Barcelona underground that are outdoors. The planned investment is 11.5 million euros and about 40,000 daily passengers will be affected. They will have at their disposal a bus that will stop at all affected stations.

Also related to the metro, TMB announced yesterday the purchase of 35 trains for which an investment of 330 million euros has been planned. The package includes 22 units to serve the central section of L9, now under construction, and 13 more that will improve the offer of conventional lines. L5 will have, at peak hour, a train every two minutes and 15 seconds, and on L1 a train will pass every two minutes and 38 seconds. TMB expects the new trains to arrive starting in 2029.
