Two climbers attended to Jonathan Andic after the father’s fall

On December 14, 2024, Isak and Jonathan Andic were not alone on the Montserrat mountain. Father and son parked their vehicles in the Collbató parking lot from which the Les Feixades path starts, a slippery but simple trail that connects the Salnitre caves with the Montserrat monastery. After barely ten minutes, the 71-year-old businessman fell into the void and died from the severe injuries of the impact. The son, who was released on Tuesday after posting a bail of one million euros and is accused of homicide, took four minutes to make the first call and it was to his father’s partner, Estefanía Knuth. Two minutes later he alerted 112 to ask for help. After half an hour, two climbers who had been practicing sport in the massif appeared on the trail and approached Jonathan, alerted by his cries of distress, according to sources familiar with the investigation that La Vanguardia has been able to learn.

Barcelona tries to put the kings of illegal pensions in jail

The Barcelona City Council is developing a new strategy to stop the group dedicated to the most active illegal tourist accommodation in the city. The idea is to obtain prison sentences against those responsible. They are the Peruvian Swedes, the kings of clandestine boarding houses. This scheme basically rents large apartments to divide them into rooms and sublet them through platforms in a systematic way until the owners manage to evict them. For some time now, their supposed leaders have not been so calm.

Trump finds no solution in Hormuz as oil spikes in the U.S.

When the European members of NATO decided not to come to Donald Trump’s rescue when he asked for help to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the president said it no longer mattered, that the United States did not depend on the oil coming from the Gulf and that its blockade by Iran would have no consequences in Washington. “I have a suggestion for you: buy it from the U.S., we have plenty, and arm yourselves with the courage you lack, go to the strait and simply take the oil,” he urged the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and other European allies.

The American leader has returned the hospitality with a level of praise that his European allies, including the kings of the United Kingdom who visited the White House two weeks ago, will hardly hear.

The Government anticipates that the war in Iran will have a negative impact of up to 7 billion on the Spanish economy

PSOE raises payments to Leire Díez for communication consultancy from 15,612 euros to 44,859 euros

The PSOE has increased from 15,612 euros to 44,859 euros the payments that the socialist formation in Cantabria paid for communication consultancy to Leire Díez, investigated by the National Court in an alleged plot “to destabilize” judicial processes against Ferraz. In a document sent to the Madrid court that initiated the investigations, the party details the periods in which the so-called plumber of the PSOE provided her services as a freelancer and the amount of the corresponding invoices “in the interest of full cooperation” with justice. The document was sent on May 14, just over ten days before the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard entered the party’s national headquarters to request information under the orders of the National Court.
