When the Prime Minister of Hungary, Péter Magyar, took office on May 9, he uttered a phrase about his electoral victory that underpins his current actions and plans for the future. According to Magyar, in the general elections of April 12 – in which he overwhelmingly defeated the previous Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán – “the Hungarians expressed that they want changes, not just a change of government, but of the system.”
