The King of Spain Felipe VI attended the Madring circuit this Sunday to witness live the first race in the history of Formula One at this Madrid track, which debuts this weekend as the home of the Spanish Grand Prix.

The monarch arrived at the track two hours before the start of the race, scheduled for 3:00 p.m., accompanied by his daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, and they were received by the top officials of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, and José Luis Martínez-Almeida, mayor of Madrid.
After this, they saw up close the ins and outs of the semi-urban circuit built between IFEMA and Valdebebas, which has 5.4 kilometers and 22 turns, accompanied by Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, and Manuel Aviñó, president of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation.

In addition, they held a meeting with the two Spanish Formula One drivers, Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Carlos Sainz (Williams), before they went into their garages to start preparing for the race on a Madring circuit that brings back F1 after 45 years, when in 1981 the Canadian Gilles Villeneuve first crossed the checkered flag in the last Formula 1 Grand Prix held in the capital.
