Alberto Núñez Feijóo has called for immediate measures from Pedro Sánchez after the report prepared by the National Police was revealed, which, according to El Español, would point to Morocco as responsible for the massive entry of more than 70,000 immigrants into Ceuta at the end of July. In this regard, the leader of the PP, who has stated that the Government “knew and covered it up,” has demanded that Sánchez urgently summon the Moroccan ambassador to Spain.

At an event alongside Juan Jesús Vivas in Ceuta, the leader of the PP demanded that Sánchez summon the Moroccan ambassador “to give explanations about the actions of their authorities and to announce initial response measures.” Feijóo has also called for the Spanish ambassador to be recalled for consultations to evaluate the most appropriate measures.
Feijóo pointed to the responsibility of Sánchez and the Government, but also pointed to Morocco. “The operation came from Morocco, it was consented to by Morocco, and everything seems to indicate that it was also coordinated by Morocco,” he stated.
The leader of the PP also criticized the Government’s behavior and warned that his party will not “stop defending the dignity of Spaniards and therefore of the people of Ceuta,” with legal actions. “This cannot go unpunished. And I assure you that the Popular Party will take care of it,” he affirmed. In this regard, he recalled that the PP has already appeared in the case before the National Court.

“The only way out is to call elections and give the people a voice,” Feijóo said. “We will not stop until we know the truth and can tell the citizens, and we will not stop until those who sold out Ceuta and, consequently, Spain and Europe, pay their judicial responsibilities,” he added.
For Feijóo, the Government and Sánchez “disregarded all the reports” that warned that an invasion could occur. “Therefore, they are responsible for the dramatic consequences, which have been death and invasion. It is evident that the Government knew and covered it up,” he insisted.
Vivas, on the day of the autonomous city, claimed that Ceuta is determined “not to surrender” nor “to be defeated.” “All together and united, as I just said at the institutional event, no matter how they pray, what they are called, or what they think,” he emphasized, before asking Feijóo to convey “to all of Spain that from every corner the cry of encouragement to Ceuta is very necessary to continue in this fight,” referring, among other things, to the gatherings this Tuesday.
