Ortí has reiterated her willingness to dialogue and has assured that the department maintains the intention to reach consensus with the representatives of the teaching staff. In this regard, the head of Education will present the trade union organizations with a comprehensive proposal that will include various support measures for the teaching staff of the Valencian Community.
In this line, after the signing of an agreement for the financing and execution of infrastructure and systems for sanitation, treatment, purification, and reuse of wastewater, President Juanfran Pérez Llorca has emphasized that “each of the proposals made by the unions will be addressed by the Generalitat and a dialogue will be opened about it.”
The head of the Consell referred to the reduction of bureaucracy and providing more resources to special education, also to the lowering of ratios and even advanced a plan for air conditioning in the centers. Asked about the salary offer that the strike organizers considered laughable (75 euros per month within three years), Llorca indicated that this will also be discussed, but he clarified that this is not the most important thing for the unions, according to what he has heard from them on some occasions.

Regarding the need for more funds in the budgets that are to be presented to meet the demands of the teaching staff, the president of the Generalitat has indicated that every year social policies are the pillars of the Consell’s accounts.

The meeting will also include the participation of the Secretary of Education, Daniel McEvoy, as well as all the general directors of the department, in a meeting with which the Ministry intends to reactivate conversations and redirect the open conflict in the Valencian educational field.
The unions will attend the call and expect a good offer
After the Ministry’s call was announced, the teachers’ unions confirmed their intention to attend it. However, they clarified that the appointment “does not stop anything” and they will come to the negotiation “with people on the street.” In addition, they pointed out that the offer they receive must be “very good” to call off the indefinite strike.
The unions had called a protest this Wednesday in front of the Ministry to reaffirm their intention to resume negotiations and it was there that they received an email from that department calling them for Thursday at 9 a.m., when four days of indefinite strike will have passed.
Despite this, the mobilization continues and the organizers went at noon, as planned, to the Palau de la Generalitat and to the Consell offices in Alicante and Castelló de la Plana to strengthen their demands. In fact, the Ministry has reported a 27.26% follow-up until 5 p.m. By provinces, it was 26.61% in Alicante, 25.45% in Castellón, and 28.36% in Valencia
